Welcome to this second edition of Magnet Quarterly: our Employer Branding newsletter. This quarter we bring you some of the latest global trends in employer branding and news about some of the exciting projects we have been and are working on:

  • We published the 2011 edition of CareerCompass at the beginning of June. Copies have been delivered to all 23 universities in South Africa.

  • Our Employer Branding meets Social Media workshop was well received by those who attended. (Is it possible to link these bold bits to the story they relate to?)

  • The Magnet Communications research team has been preparing for our eighth annual research surveys — the Student Survey; the Professionals’ Survey; and the MBA survey.

  • We are planning a Magnet Employer Branding Workshop for this quarter. The workshop will explore how an integrated approach to employer branding can be linked to the HR and Communication processes in an organisation.

  • We will also be launching our student career discovery tool for students, Career Magnet in Q3.

  • We’re pleased to announce that Luvuyo Magopeni is back on the Magnet team! Luvuyo is key account manager for our other new venture, Magnet Student Placements, which aims to help students in Gauteng gain real work experience through part time assignments with ideal employers.

Enjoy the read and please send us your comments and suggestions. We would like to hear how we can better serve your needs. And please don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter — we regularly post interesting nuggets of information.
